Launch of the Fairswiss range of Fairtrade milk, the first milk at national level to ensure that producers are paid up to CHF 1 per liter!
The price paid to milk producers has been discussed for years. It is in fact much lower than the cost of production, estimated at CHF 1 per liter (AGRIDEA, 2016). For the first time in Switzerland, dairy products based on producer compensation at this price are widely available in large retailers. This is an important step that allows consumers to commit to fair trade within the country. The Faireswiss Fair Milk range was launched in the 31 Manor stores in Switzerland on September 23, 2019.
This is a whole Tetra Edge UHT milk carton (3.5% fat) from the Cremo transformer. But also five soft cheeses from the Grand Pré cheese dairy in Moudon: Brie de Moudon, Bourg-Mignon, Coeur de Moudon, St-Etienne and Reblochon.
The five soft cheeses are produced by the cheese dairy "Le Grand Pré SA" in Seyens / Moudon.
"Le Grand Pré" inaugurated its new soft cheese production facility in the heart of Moudon in September 2013. "Le Grand Pré" is the new brand that combines all the soft cheese specialties of the former Moudon cheese school.
The criteria to be met
Mrs. Anne Chenevard, president of the fair dairy cooperative, must find moisture-resistant labels that identify the five soft cheeses in different shapes with the best value for money.
Labeling different products with die-cut labels to highlight the quality of the products offered.
Selfix: labels of choice
The requirements for food labeling are generally very strict. In particular, the materials used must comply with the provisions of food legislation. The PP material white extra TC complies with Regulation (EC) No. 1935/2004 and (EU) No. 10/2011, based on subsequent amendment in Regulation (EC) 2019/1338 on plastics and articles intended to come into contact with food and Regulation (EC) No. 2023/2006 on good manufacturing practice for materials and articles intended to come into contact with food.
All ingredients of gum 62Cpc comply with BfR XIV or FDA 21 CFR 175.105 (Adhesives) recommendations.
High performance UV inks
Tau high performance UV inks feature a wider color gamut. Up to 70% of the Pantone color gamut can be covered with 4 process colors and even 90% with 6 process colors. Even with white color, Tau UV inks deliver excellent results in single-pass mode. Tau UV inks are lightfast, scratch-resistant and resistant to chemical attack. Therefore, they are particularly suitable for outdoor applications as well as industrial and safety signage. Tau UV inks are UL certified and include 3M high performance label substrates (UL File: MH18072 - Category: PGJI2 (UL), PGJI8 (cUL)UL File: MH18072). Accordingly, the Tau UV inks can be printed flexibly on a wide range of materials and surfaces.
Mrs. Chenevard is convinced and decides to use white PP labels 60my TC permanent in different formats to mark the 5 products with variable imprints, including the small heart for the cheese "Le Coeur de Moudon", the hexagon "Le Bourg Mignon" and the round labels in Ø-60, 75 and 155 mm for "Saint-Etienne", "Reblochon de Moudon" and "Brie de Moudon".
By choosing Selfix labels, the cooperative "Fair Milk Switzerland" was able to launch these products at an economical cost, thus supporting the Swiss farmer.

PROLAIT - The dairy association decided to implement the production and marketing of its soft cheeses under the brand name Le Grand Pré. The aim is to improve the added value of the producers milk and to take advantage of the proximity to the producers with their know-how.
