Ribbon - Thermal Transfer Ribbon

In thermal transfer printing, the ink layer of the ribbon is transferred from the ribbon to the label. That is why when we use ribbons in combination with thermal printers, we speak of thermal transfer printing.

The two biggest advantages of thermal transfer printing are: wide range of label materials and durability.

Ribbons must be matched to the material surface (uncoated, coated, synthetic) and the requirements (short-life, long-life, abrasion and scratch resistance) as well as the thermal printer.

There are three types of ribbons: Wax ribbons, wax-resin ribbons and resin ribbons. We recommend the following:

Papers (uncoated/coated): Wax ribbons

Papers (coated), synthetic materials: wax-resin ribbons

Synthetic materials: wax-resin or resin ribbons
